THE BEST BRITISH SCHOOLS IN DUBAI

In the United Arab Emirates, a British education for their children remains their goal.

For some parents it's simply because GCSEs and A' levels is still the gold standard for education, generally, around the world.

For others, and not just those in the UK, it will be because UK schools are a gateway to UK universities and in turn UK universities are seen as a gateway to work around the world.

In the United Arab Emirates, its popularity is reflected in the fact that there are more schools following the curriculum based in England and Wales than in any other country.

British education in the Emirates

• Alphabetical qualification will remain in IGCSE, which will immediately differentiate, in a very transparent way, international students in the Emirates at age 16 from home students in the UK.
• AS and A levels will not be disconnected.
• At least one Examination Board is changing the name of the qualifications, for example, from International Level A to International Advanced Level, further confusing the two sets of examinations.
• Internationally, some courses and modularity will disappear, but some will increase where there are none in the UK.

That being said, many schools in the United Arab Emirates do not offer IGCSE, but have maintained British GCSE and A Levels.
